CDBG Program

The City of Vallejo is entitled to receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds each year from the Federal government. The purpose of the CDBG Program is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, primarily for members of the community who are of low and moderate income.

The City develops its own CDBG programs and projects, and funding priorities, through a collaborative process which includes target area neighborhood residents, the City Council, the Community Development Commission, non-profit agencies, and City employees.  CDBG funds are allocated for neighborhood and facility improvements, housing rehabilitation, homebuyer loans, and social services.
