SINCLAIR TO REMAIN INTERIM FINANCE DIRECTOR THROUGH JUNE 30

VALLEJO – Tom Sinclair, Interim Finance Director for the City of Vallejo, has agreed to stay on in that capacity through the current fiscal year, which ends June 30, 2004.
Sinclair was brought on in November 2003 to replace the retired Fred Wright. He current contract was set to expire February 27, 2004.

“Having Tom remain until the end of June helps the city a great deal, especially in keeping a level of continuity in the financial area,” said City Manager David Martinez. “His title may be interim, but he’s someone who is experienced and feels comfortable in this setting.”
Sinclair has held various positions in his career, including finance director for the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency as well as the City of El Cerrito; and was the first City Manager of Orinda.

“Rather than having someone come in with no hands-on experience with Vallejo’s finances we’re getting someone who is already up to speed. He will also have a key role in preparing the manager’s budget proposal, which comes out May 15. This bodes well for the city.”
