Our Mission

With honesty and integrity, we are a team genuinely committed to improving and developing the quality of life in Vallejo’s diverse communities.

Core Goals & Services

  • Increase the affordable housing supply
  • Preservation of the existing affordable housing supply
  • Assist in the prevention of slum and blight Provide services to homeless and at-risk populations
  • Provide public facilities improvements

We accomplish the above through Fiscal Responsibility, Innovation, Respect, Support, Teamwork, Encouragement of Success, Quality Customer Service—all provided in a caring environment.

The Housing & Community Development Division implements and maintains the HOME and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs and other vital programs and services.

The collective federal award of both programs averages $1.3 million dollars annually, which is invested into Vallejo neighborhoods and communities through the allocation of funds primarily to nonprofit organizations based in Vallejo that share the City's mission, core values and goals.
