How to Apply

​A family or household interested in participating in the HCV program must submit a pre-application once the wait list is open. The pre-application typically requests less information than a full application and the information is not verified. The information provided is generally sufficient enough to determine an applicant’s preliminary eligibility for placement on the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and/or Project Based Voucher (PBV) waitlist.

If a family is determined ineligible, a letter is sent:

  • Notifying of ineligibility
  • Stating the reasons for determination
  • Explaining how the family can request an informal hearing
