Please take a moment to look over upcoming and recurring Recycling Events in your neighborhood.
Americans throw away 25% more trash from the end of November through the New Year, the California Department of Resources Recovery and Recycling (CalRecycle) reports. This extra waste amounts to 25 million tons of garbage, or about 1 million extra tons, per week nationwide. With this in mind, local governments are urging residents to reduce, reuse, and recycle during this holiday season. Vallejo residents can put their holiday waste – cans, bottles, greeting cards, gift boxes and wrapping paper – in their blue curbside recycling cart. For more information on recycling and reducing waste during the holidays, visit www.holidayrecycle.com.
