This project amends Vallejo Municipal Code Chapter 16.303 (Accessory Dwelling Units) to comply with State ADU Law under Government Code Sections 65852.2 and 65852.22, ensuring that local regulations align with state requirements for both accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and junior accessory dwelling units (JADUs).

PROJECT STATUS

The City Council introduced the ordinance on August 4, 2026 and adopted it on September 9, 2026. The ordinance will go into effect on October 8, 2026. A copy of the ordinance was transmitted to the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) on September 11, 2026.
