City of Vallejo, CA, CA

The City amended the Vallejo Municipal Code to establish an expedited and streamlined permitting process for electric vehicle charging stations, consistent with Assembly Bill 1236 and Government Code Section 65850.7.

The ordinance establishes administrative procedures, application requirements, and electronic submittal processes to facilitate installation of charging infrastructure while maintaining applicable public health and safety standards. These changes support the City’s sustainability goals by expanding access to electric vehicle charging.

Project Status

Following Planning Commission review and recommendation, the City Council introduced the ordinance on July 28, 2026, and adopted it on September 8, 2026. The ordinance update is complete and establishes streamlined permitting procedures for electric vehicle charging stations.
