Accepted Materials

Paper and Cardboard

Please flatten cardboard boxes before putting them in your blue cart!

• Junk mail including envelopes with plastic window
• Newspapers
• Printing paper
• Magazines (includes glossy publications)
• Cereal boxes
• Shoe boxes
• Brown paper bags
• Corrugated cardboard (cardboard with ridges)
• Shredded paper
• Clean pizza boxes
• Soft cover, paperback, and phone books
• Aseptic cartons (milk, juice, ice cream)

Unaccepted: Facial tissues, toilet paper, wet wipes, or paper products soiled with food

Plastic Bottles, Tubs, and Jugs

You do not need to remove labels or caps. Please empty and containers and ensure they are dry. Examples include:

• Plastic water, juice, and soda bottles
• Plastic tubs yogurt and butter
• Plastic milk jugs and other beverages

Unaccepted: Plastic bags, bubble wrap and other packaging, loose films, garden hoses, Styrofoam, PVC or other piping

Glass

• Glass bottles from juice, soda, wine, and liquor (clear, green, and brown)
• Glass jars from pasta sauce and other food items

Unaccepted: Mirrors, light bulbs, ceramic, window panes, dishware, drinking glasses/mugs, and vases

Metal

You do not need to remove labels or crush cans. Please rinse containers and ensure they are dry.

• Food and beverage cans (aluminum, steel, and tin)
• Clean aluminum pans and foil
• Empty aerosol cans
• Loose lids from jars

Unaccepted: Metal coat hangers, fuel or propane tanks

Does your business generate a lot of cardboard?

Cardboard collection service is available to businesses at no extra cost. Cardboard-only dumpsters are available in 2-, 4-, or 6-cubic yards. Please make sure all boxes are broken down and flattened before placing in your box. Waxed or plastic lined cardboard is not accepted.

MANDATORY COMMERCIAL RECYCLING (AB 341) 

Per CA State law AB 341, effective July 1, 2012, all businesses and public entities that generate four cubic yards or more of solid waste per week are required to have a recycling program.
