Chief Kyle Long joined the Vallejo Fire Department in 2003 as a firefighter paramedic. During his 18 years at the department he has promoted to fire captain, and battalion chief. In May 2019 he was appointed to the position of deputy chief. While serving the department in this rank he has been responsible for operations, training, emergency medical services, and fire prevention.
Chief Long is currently a member of the Solano County Fire Chiefs Association, California Fire Chiefs Association, and the International Fire Chiefs Association. He serves as a board member for Leadership Vallejo. Chief Long attended Napa Valley College and NCTI where he received his Paramedic license.
Chief Long is thankful for the ongoing dedication of the Vallejo Firefighters, the backbone of the department, who are committed to serving the City of Vallejo. The support that he receives from the firefighters and administrative staff has been instrumental to his success.
